Join our volunteer team!
Volunteers are vital to the continued success of Cascades Raptor Center. They help us provide high-quality care for our avian ambassadors and great experiences for our visitors.
We strive to create a positive environment where all volunteers feel safe and welcome, can contribute in meaningful ways, and are valued for their abilities.
Things to know before you apply:
- Volunteers have very limited direct physical contact with raptors. Instead, they support the birds by educating visitors and caring for the birds in a hands-off fashion.
- Volunteer spaces are limited, and we are unable to offer positions to every applicant. Some departments, like the resident care team and hospital team, often have waitlists. Please continue to check back for available opportunities.
- All volunteers must be up to date on their tetanus vaccination and are also highly encouraged to stay current with the latest COVID vaccines.
- Our minimum age for volunteering is 18.
- We do not currently have drop-in or one-off volunteering options for individuals. We do periodically host group work parties, which can also include people under 18. If you are interesting in coordinating a volunteer day for your group, please reach out to us at [email protected].
