Erin grew up in Kentucky passionate about animal care and conservation and began volunteering at various nonprofit animal shelters, sanctuaries, and rehabilitation centers at a young age. She moved to Indiana in 2016 and gained valuable hands-on experience as a zookeeper and then animal care manager at an animal shelter while earning her bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences. For 5 years, Erin oversaw the daily operations and care of over 180 animals at a large primate sanctuary that provided retirement to primates used in medical research. Here, she fell in love with animal behavior and became skilled in free choice animal care. Erin moved to Oregon in 2026 to join Cascades Raptor Center as the Ambassador Curator!
In her free time, Erin spends most of her time reading, exploring local nature areas, baking sourdough for friends and family, and traveling with her partner, Ted.
