Katie McInnis (she/her) is the Staff Veterinarian at Cascades Raptor Center. Katie graduated in 2012 from Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM and completed an internship in wildlife medicine and surgery at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) in Sanibel Island, Florida, in 2014. After moving to Eugene, she volunteered for for both Cascades Raptor Center and Chintimini Wildlife Center while working part-time as a small animal veterinarian . In 2017 Katie began working at the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (IWRC), where she developed online rehabilitation courses and assisted in editing several IWRC textbooks.

In September 2024, Katie realized her lifelong dream of becoming a full-time wildlife veterinarian when she returned to Cascades Raptor Center, this time as a staff member. Her goals as the staff veterinarian include improving patient welfare through optimal pain management, creating an internship program that provides holistic knowledge of wildlife rehabilitation, and improving wildlife welfare through sharing knowledge and techniques on appropriate handling. She is an avid birder and enjoys spending her time off in nature with her family and friends.
