Eowyn was hatched in human care in 2000 at the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, Missouri. Her early life in human care prepared her to be a confident and comfortable ambassador for her species. She came to Cascades Raptor Center in April 2004.

Ferruginous Hawks are difficult to observe in the wild and Eowyn’s presence on the education team allows visitors an up-close glimpse of this large but elusive species. Her favorite activity – at all times of year – is to have a mist-shower from one of her human co-workers. Her second favorite activity is sunning herself afterwards, wings spread wide.
