Ambassador Curator

Hours: 40 hours, 5 days/week, including weekends, some holidays, and evenings
Salary Range:  $55,000-$65,000 annually with advancement opportunities

The Ambassador Curator will be a strong believer in Cascades Raptor Center’s pursuit of excellence in welfare, educational impact, and ethical animal care. The Ambassador Curator is a supervisory position responsible for directing the Resident Care Team and overseeing day to day operations related to CRC’s living collection, guided by the highest standards of applied behavioral management and welfare. Under the leadership and guidance of the Ambassador Curator, the Resident Care Team maintains a high level of communication, keen observation, interpretation, and responsiveness to animal behavior, as well as attention to detail, efficient workflow structures, and effective time management. This is a public-facing position requiring daily interaction with guests.

Trainer & Educator, I/II

Salary range: $19-$23 hourly, non-exempt
Work hours: 40 hours, 5 days/week, including weekends, some holidays, and evenings

Cascades Raptor Center is hiring for a full-time Trainer & Educator position. This role is public-facing and entails training ambassador birds in cooperative-care and programming behaviors, as well as engaging guests to further Cascades’ mission of connecting the public to wildlife.

Cascades has one (1) opening for a Trainer & Educator position. Candidates may qualify for either a Trainer I or Trainer II position level, depending on experience.

Summer Internship

Duration: 12 weeks, June-September
Hours: 40 hours/week, including weekends
Compensation: $15.50/hour, with housing provided

Internships with CRC are immersive, hands-on learning opportunities. This internship splits time between the wildlife hospital and nature center. Under the guidance of our knowledgeable staff, interns will learn the ins and outs of animal care and management, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, educational program development and delivery, the application of operant learning techniques, and much more. This internship is designed for people who would like to grow their career in this field.
