Chris grew up in the Pacific Northwest in a tiny town you’ve never heard of and received his Bachelor’s degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. His career has led him down some interesting paths: he founded a nonprofit in Ohio, ran a different nonprofit in Wisconsin, worked across the country as a professional Shakespearean actor, had two novels published, and traveled the globe as an international courier.

He currently lives in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, where his primary role for the last decade has been that of full-time parent. In his free time, he enjoys birding, photography, baking, reading, board games, and road trips with his wife and kids.

A lifelong lover of birds, he studied ornithology at UW-Madison and volunteers for the American Kestrel nest box program with the Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance. He can often be found at the side of a trail, staring into some underbrush trying to figure out just what kind of sparrow is hopping around in there.

He is beyond excited to join the team at Cascades Raptor Center.
