Jen began her career in fundraising in 1997 as a liaison for the Children’s Miracle Network’s Kids Helping Kids program. This lit a fire and a passion within, and she began spending her free time doing volunteer fundraising work. In 2007, her passion became her career when she got her first job in development, and she spent the next 15 years working for social services nonprofits. When the opportunity at Cascades Raptor Center presented itself, Jennifer saw a way to turn her love of the Pacific Northwest and the natural world into a new direction for her development career. Meeting new people, cultivating relationships, and building connections are what she loves and she is excited to connect our community with the Center.
Jen is mom to three children, stepmom to several others, and grandma to two, plus caretaker for two rescue dogs and three rescue kitties. Hiking is a passion regardless of the weather, and some of her favorite hikes are those done in the pouring rain. Her life outside the Raptor Center is full of laughter and adventure (and when the whole family is together, a little bit of chaos).
