Bring the Raptor Experience to Your Location

Classroom visits are typically limited to Fall and Winter terms, as our birds get very busy in the spring! Please call regarding availably for spring programs for your group. Summer camps or other events during the summer season must be held in a shaded or indoor, air conditioned location.

Bring the Wild Alive — Full Program

Invite the birds to you! Classroom, Outdoor School, or Club Meeting include mulitple birds of prey, depending on the curriculum topic being presented in a 50-55 minute program. Topics may be introduction to raptors, predators and their prey, life cycles, birds, form and function, or an introduction to raptor rehabilitation.

Costs are $250 for a visit, up to 60 participants maximum, in a classroom or library where the acoustics are good (to keep the birds comfortable); up to two more programs at $100 each for the same visit, in the same classroom or space, for up to 60 participants each. A mileage ($0.55/mile) and driving time charge is added for programs outside the Eugene/Springfield metropolitan area (e.g., 2 hour round trip=$50).

Be creative! A visit from these birds can be a perfect complement to a reading class (lots of books on owls, falcons, hawks!), a science class, an art class, or more!

Reading with Raptors

A Raptor Experience for the youngest raptor fans...
After a short program introducing raptors, watch your students be ENRAPTURED as a story book comes to life with a special "Guest Star" Raptor! A Reading with Raptors program involves a story read out loud by one of our staff members, while the 'star' of the story sits nearby.

Cost of the program is $125, plus mileage ($0.55/mile) reimbursement if you are outside the Eugene/Springfield metropolitan area (e.g., 2 hour round trip=$50). Additional programs (up to two more) in the same visit, in the same room, $50 each.

Dmitri Experience

Dmitri, the Eurasian Eagle-Owl, is the largest owl and most confident member of our Education Team. In addition to his work as a raptor educator, he also makes private appearances to support the work we do at the Cascades Raptor Center such as personal visits.

He has experience with photo shoots, corporate events, weddings, and even film sets. The base rate for a Dmitri visit is $350, with an additional surcharge that depends on the specific circumstances of the request. Please contact us for more information, and provide detailed information including a description of the location for the appearance and whether Dmitri would be a passive visitor or active participant in a flight or training demonstration.
