In Memoriam

Updated May 2016
To honor those resident birds that have served as ambassadors from their wild world to ours, we have set up this page with photos of those birds who have left us – free now in another realm. Most have had long lives with us, once their ability to live in the wild was gone. Some birds we've lost to accidents, despite all our precautions to make their environment safe, many to things like cancer or COPD or atherosclerosis not typically seen in the wild because they don't typically live long enough. All have been loved and been an important part of the lives of staff, volunteers, adopters, and visitors.
